Scientology criticizes German Microsoft agreement

dpaWashington - The international Scientology organization described an agreement between the German federal government and the Microsoft software corporation as an unprecedented example of religious discrimination. The Germans plan on an option whereby "Diskeeper," a function produced by a US Scientologist's company, could be disabled in Mircrosoft's Windows 2000 program.
The Federal Office for Security in Information Technology (BSI) was required to review security in Windows 2000 and Diskeeper because of the Scientology background. A rhetorical "Should non-Catholic Americans now boycott Mercedes automobiles because they are built by Catholics in Stuttgart?" was stated in Scientology's response on Monday. The organization which is acknowledged in the USA as a church is regarded in Germany as a sect with undemocratic goals.
