British Parliament, 1968: From Blacks Law Dictionary: Fraud: An intentional perversion of the truth for the purpose of inducing another in reliance upon it to part with some valuable thing or to surrender a legal right; a false representation of a matter of fact, whether by words ot conduct, by false or misleading allegations, or by concealment of that which should have been disclosed, which deceives and is intended to deceive another so that he shall act upon it to his legal injury; anything calculated to deceive, whether by a single act or combination, or by suppression of truth, or suggestion of what is false, whether it be by direct falsehood or innuendo, by speech or silence, word of mouth, or look or gesture; fraud comprises all acts, omissions, and concealments involving a branch of legal or equitable duty and resulting in damage to another. In his book Complicity: Ethics and Law for a Collective Age, Christopher Kutz suggests that marginally effective participants in a collective harm are accountable for the victim's suffering, "not because of the individual differences they make, but because their intentional participation in a collective endeavour directly links them to the consequences of that endeavour." The first section consists of the false claims, the artifice, the misleading allegations, and the perversions of truth used to entice the good hearted rubes into believing that Scientology's "Bridge to Total Freedom" goes anywhere else that to a condition of having no conscience..That is the "Total Freedom" gained by becoming a Scientologist. This allows a Scientologist to do things of even a criminal nature without feeling guilt or social responsibility, for breaking civil laws and moral codes. The 2nd section is a summary of some of the techniques used to keep those who have already been tricked into believing that there is substance to Hubbard's claims, from finding out that they have been hoodwinked. Example: My own name ( and many others ) was distributed on a CD Rom to Scientology's members by Scientology management as part of a "Safe Websurfing Net Nanny" software program, which caused anything with Arnie Lerma, Arnaldo lerma, or Lerma in the text, that is, the man who is typing these words for you to read, to be caused to not appear on the Scientologists's computer screen. The third section, consists of those things that Scientology does in order to silence, or nullify the effectiveness of, including contriving entrapment for criminal charges anyone whose speech or conduct interferes with the continued extraction of money from rubes.
