Examining the Mind of L. Ron Hubbard

In order to understand L. Ron Hubbard one must be willing to look through his mind and be willing to be him, if only for a short while. I will now attempt to take you through this journey.

First, let’s pretend that you are ten years old. You live in a world of imagination. After school you play with your friends. You and they pretend to be pirates or cops and robbers, or army men, or any number of characters. During these games you may pretend to have super powers, guns, force shields, space suits, or any number of imaginary tools of the game. You define them and agree upon them and usually pretend to have a mutual enemy. You may all agree that sticks are ray guns and that if you are shot, you are dead for twenty seconds after which time you can be reborn as a “new man.” You may play these type games for hours. Some of the time is spent alone with your own thoughts and other times one or more friends participate. As you get older these games are replaced by other games. The business of having a girlfriend, becoming educated, earning a living, and taking responsibility becomes the focus. Yet the mind of the ten year old boy never really leaves and can be recalled and remade. It is the mind of the adventurer. The only rules in this world are the agreements that you make with your fellow players. If you agree that sticks are ray guns, fine. It doesn’t have to be true, just agreed upon.

Some of us remain closer to our imaginary world than to the social world. It is difficult to part with this universe, for in it you are king, queen, or whatever you choose to be. It is a world of adventure and creation. L Ron Hubbard lived in such a world. In that world he was total cause, the source point. He was the Commodore and the long awaited Maitreya (the last Buddha). He got others to agree with his new games, to dress as sailors, travel the world in boats, fight battles with enemies, dust, smells, body spirits, and more. He convinced others to abandon long established friends, family, and beliefs to pursue his new “breakthroughs” and his road to “Total Freedom.”

In or about 1947 L Ron Hubbard hand-wrote the Affirmations/Admissions. So important were they to him that he states:

“You will reverence and believe everything here, consciously and forever. These words sink into your whole being. They remake your entire life. They are your code, belief, your guiding star.” “You will never forget these incantations. They are holy and now become an integral part of your nature. You enter the greatest phase yet of work and devotion and power and have perfect control without further fear.” “I will not forget these things but will enjoin them with all related ideas as more powerful than any other ideas in my head.”

Like a ten year old boy playing with his friends, he has super powers, including a force shield that protects him.

“God and your Guardian and your own power bring destruction on those who would injure you. But you never speak of this for you are kind. A sphere of light, invisible to others, surrounds you as a protecting globe. All forces bounce away from you off this.”

According to LRH you too can become invincible, even though he doesn’t promise the force shield. But first you must reveal all your secrets, hidden crimes, and transgressions to him. Once you have accomplished this, not even an atomic bomb will kill you! Here is L. Ron Hubbard telling us this amazing “truth” from the 3 January 1960 tape called “Zones of Control and Responsibility”:

“You want to prevent the world from being destroyed? Take responsibility for it. The odd part of it is, if you just sat down and took responsibility for it, and ran out your overts – just you see, just one person –ran out your overts against it – the very least that would happen is when everything else blew up, you would be sitting there untouched. Now there is the handling for the H-bomb.”

Brilliant! Does anyone reading this want to test out this “truth”? Does anyone really believe that the Atom bomb gives a damn about whether you have overt acts or not, especially when ethics is supposed to be a personal thing and the concept of overts is all a subjective reality anyway?

Keep writing up those overts and withholds, though. According to him, he knows. Remember, he wrote “All About Radiation”. Furthermore, he gave another lecture on the same day as the one just mentioned. It is called “Create and Confront.” On that lecture Ron talked about the repeating identity. On this tape, he is race car driver competing against his earlier lifetime track records. In all, he had the course record for about sixteen lifetimes. The racetrack was supposedly rigged with oil, sand, and loose gravel - and with atomic bombs! Here is what he said.

“Almost anybody going through Marcab Confederacy sooner or later got mixed up with the racetracks. They had turbine generated cars. They ran with a high whine. I noticed they just now invented the motor again. And they had tracks that were booby-trapped with atomic bombs, and they had side bypasses. The tracks were mined, and the grandstands were leaded paned. And the audience- it got to be a kind of a “no audience. “ You never could see the audience.”

And oh, they had loose sand sections and they had slick oil asphalt and they had ice sections and loose gravel. Any kind of hazards you could think of. A mountain that went up to the top and fell off you know?

And just – there were just more drivers killed. There was more blood pouring on that track, you see, all the time. I mean it was always goofed up. Ten twelve thousand years, this was the favorite sport of the Marcab Confederacy, apparently.

If I am restimulating you, ok. It’s not done intentionally. You’ll run into this sooner or later. You’ll wonder … you’ve probably often wondered what that needle-like pinging was in the back of your neck. Well, you probably wound up on the track some time or another as a driver or something of the sort.

Now let’s be logical. Do you really think a race track would be rigged with atomic bombs? It doesn’t fit. A small bomb or no bomb at all makes more sense. Why kill all the drivers, why require leaded glass for the pedestrians, why blow up the track? Who the heck would want to go to a nuclear fallout site to watch a race anyway? Get real. By the way, how’s that pinging on the back of your neck?

On page 111 of the State of Man Congress transcripts (copyright 1992) it says:

“In the fall of 1930 Ron pursued his studies of mathematics and engineering, enrolling in George Washington University where he was also a member of one of the first American classes on Nuclear physics.

It is very comforting to know that Ron attended a class on Nuclear Physics. He now appears to be more qualified to talk about nuclear bombs. However, don’t you think it also might be appropriate to tell us that he failed out and learned next to nothing about the subject? I could say the same thing about my chemistry class in college before I switched majors. Unlike Hubbard, I will be the first to admit that attending a Chemistry class is not even worth mentioning on a resume’. Particularly if one failed the course or dropped out.

Ron was born in another generation. The GI bill enabled more folks to go to college than ever before in America’s history. One was expected to make it through. Those that did had camaraderie and often associated with each other. But Ron blew his chance at an education and resented all who made it. He felt uneasy about how others would perceive him, as he had inadequate qualifications. So he lied about his credentials and downgraded the qualifications of others, particularly those that opposed him. He then set up a new caste system, of which, I will say more in a moment.

Below he accuses college graduates and psychologists of not being able to study. Yet he is the one that couldn’t study and failed out, not them.

As I have mentioned before, and not just to make a smart crack, a psychologist, a university student would have no more chance of approximating a professional auditor’s results than he would have of turning water into wine. This may make a professional auditor’s results look very mysterious to him. And, well it should. If he is stupid enough to investigate instead of partake, let him be part of the mystery sandwich. Mystery is the big sticker, you know?

Two things the Human race buys: make nothing out of it, and a total mystery. These are very salable. All of Madison Avenue’s techniques are functional only when they hit these two points. - L Ron Hubbard Tape of 6 February 1958 from The Restoration of Knowing Cause series.

Ron applies “make nothing out of it” by inferring that all education in universities is worthless and counter-productive. He attacks educated men because they have sense enough and education enough to realize that many of the basic premises of Scientology are flawed. I will explain this in a later chapter. I will also explain the mystery sandwich and Madison Avenue Techniques used to market his 'technology' and how he “makes nothing of it” when dealing with ideas that oppose his own. For now let’s continue with being stupid enough to investigate. After all, even the old man himself said, “the price of freedom is constant alertness, constant willingness to fight back.”

So, why shouldn’t you look?

One of the concepts that attracted me to Scientology was the belief that man is basically good. It says this in the Creed of the Church. This statement would suggest that L Ron Hubbard thinks highly of man. However, a close review shows just the opposite.

L Ron Hubbard said that the population of earth consists of artists, business men, perverts, and criminals. This is inconsistent with the concept that all men are basically good. Some are now considered to be perverts and criminals. Additionally, according to him, 2 ½ % of the population is composed of suppressive persons who allegedly have the ever present continuous intention to harm and destroy and 20% of the remaining population are potential trouble sources connected in some way to a Suppressive person. He further degrades man by stating in the Technical Bulletin called “Alter-is and Degraded Beings” that for every able being there are a minimum of eighteen degraded beings. So, now the good guys are really outnumbered - eighteen to one. According to the Scientology technical dictionary degraded beings are a sort of super continual PTS that work for suppressives only. He says, “Taking a cue from SP associates they instinctively resent, hate, and seek to obstruct any person in charge of anything or any Big Being.” So, in Ron’s mind we have a world of businessmen, artists, perverts, criminals, suppressive persons, potential trouble sources, and super PTS degraded beings. The able good guy is reduced to a minimum of one in nineteen or 5% of the population. How frightening!

On the tape “Blackness” of 2 December 1953 Ron said:

“The reason anybody can do anything to him, and the reason he’s got to lay himself wide open to the world and let them hit him as they will, is the fact that he stole a baby. He isn’t the son or daughter of father and mother and he knows it damn well. But he’s got this buried from himself so deep – so deeply and so viciously certain that he himself mustn’t know it – because you see, if he knows it, he will think it, and if he thinks it, somebody’s liable to pick it up by telepathy, he thinks. That’s his reasoning, that’s what he has been told too often. Like the God trick – you mustn’t think anything because if you think it, we can read your thoughts.”

From this we learn two things. First, Ron feels that we are all criminals. We steal a baby as the very first basic act in this universe. That makes us all thieves – criminals. Second, we hide this fact even from ourselves, in fear that if we ever think about it, someone will find out about it by telepathy!

So Ron’s concept is that we are all criminals walking around with the fear that others can read our thoughts. He looked down on and despised mankind and had a hidden terror of others, as you will see below.

Did you know that he believed that his mind was different than our minds? It was vastly superior and on a totally different plane. That’s right. I’ll show you from the 1947 Affirmations, his guidebook for life:

" There is psychic will power, possessed by a very few. You possess such will power and it is enormously strong and irresistible. You work it consciously. Those things you consciously state- that you will come to be."

"The criticism of the One Command which was given to material things was not leveled at you. It was not worthy. It did not detract from the value of the book. It was from small people. You gave it no heed. It did not affect you."

"There was one error in that book and you have psychically willed it into nothing. It was the electronic theory of the workings of the human mind. Human, material minds do work this way and you were right. Your own mind does not work this way. You have great spiritual strength. Your mind is not material. It does not react like any human mind. Whatever is fed to your mind can be sorted out. You can forget at will. Men's facts fed to you need not affect your thought if they are a part of the lives and mores and morals of men. Your thought processes do not warp on facts which are fed to you. You can receive sense messages and remember them but you need not add them into your own thought processes."

"You use the minds of men. They do not use your mind or affect it in any way. You have a sacred spiritual mind, too strong, too high to be touched. Your league with Higher Beings, your mighty Guardian and the All Powerful, renders you beyond all human criticism."

"You can distinguish between your doubts and what is said to you. You have no doubts because you have no fear. You are kind and considerate to all because you are so powerful. You need never defend your motives to anyone because your motives are right. You have never done wrong and need never apologize to anyone. You never justify or explain your acts because you are careful that these acts are good and kind."

"You can be merciless when your will is crossed and you have the right to be merciless."

"You are eternal. You are satisfied to live within God. Human death is not your death. You will never die. Your personal memory is not important but you will retain it."

"You recall all your past times on earth. You have and will live forever. You are part of God."

So there you have it. He has a sacred spiritual mind too high to touch. He is never wrong but just in case he can psychically forget whatever he wants to at will and need not answer to anyone. We on the other hand have electronic minds which he controls. Our minds are burdened down by the morals and mores of men. We cannot touch his mind. He is beyond all human criticism. Hum. I wonder how many Dianetics Books he would have sold if he put this concept of his mind verses our mind in the book?

L Ron Hubbard exacerbates the burden of our “lesser” minds by giving us his bridge to total freedom and all the accompanying lectures, books, and tapes. In regards to seeing Hubbard as a true Suppressive Person, are we there yet? I’ll keep going, because even if you realize this, his false data that you have accepted can still ruin your life.

In Ron’s world everyone is a criminal and a potential enemy. That’s right, everyone - not just the SP.

He was totally unable and unwilling to accept any criticism whatsoever. He hypnotized himself to block it all out from his mind. Furthermore, he convinced himself that he was always right no matter what and never wrong. In fact, he is our ruler. He says so. He also says he is merciless to any who cross his rule. Here are the methods and force shields that he put up to handle any criticism:

Material things are yours for the asking. Men are your slaves. Elemental spirits are your slaves. You are power among powers, light in the darkness, and beauty in all.

Your psychology is advanced and true and wonderful. It hypnotizes people. It predicts their emotions, for you are their ruler. You don't have to talk about all this. You know too well it is true. You never have to argue, all you need to do is sit back with a calm, kind smile and people will come to you with their opinions. You need never talk to fill silences in a group. You are an arbiter, a kindly one. You do not have to talk. But when you do talk you are amusing, witty, so personable no one can resist your charm. If they do not reply, it is because they are afraid of you.

What people think of you does not matter. You know when you are right. Women especially love you and you fear no man.

You need not believe anything you read. Other writers are often in error and you have no great respect for their printed words. You can appreciate their quality without regard to your own. They cannot change your true self and thoughts. Their jeers in print and their criticisms have no weight on you. You know what is true. You don't even have to defend your beliefs. They are too powerful.

You will know everything you ever knew in any life. You will feel no guilt or lack in yourself about any of your experiences. You can recall them all without pain. Your past was what it was. You cannot change it. But you had the whole right to use or help or hurt people and you are too powerful now to be more than amused by your folly.

Criticism does not affect you emotionally.

You will forget all derogatory criticism you have ever received. You cast it out. You know it is only a weapon used on you for others' gain.

You understand all the workings of the minds of humans around you, for you are a doctor of minds, bodies and influences.

You have no mental flaws which hinder you. You have nothing which hinders you. Everything helps you. You are crown prince of your portion of the universe. Everything does your bidding perfectly. All elementals and other dimensional things obey you with eagerness. All things love you and their love makes you strong. You are strong. You love with great force all things and your will controls them. You may use force and your will with utter impunity for all things obey.

You owe no debt for the kind things people do for you. This is your due as an adept. But you are always gallant, kind and considerate to people. You do not vary your own thoughts to be kind. Kindness need not impoverish or discriminate you.

You are just and kind. You are merciless to any who cross your rule but they do not affect you emotionally. You have no fear of anyone for everyone in your own Universe is under your dominion. You will never tell them, never explain. They know.

You observe their rules of conduct outwardly. You do this because you are kind. You never say why you do this, that you do this. You are kind and love everything even when you force it to your will.

You are psychic. You do not need to "press" to receive communication. You can let "people" in any world talk to you while you are wide awake. You can see them clearly. You have no doubts of any kind about them. You are afraid of none of them but can cancel them out at will if they are evil to you."

So here we are. When I count from one to ten and snap my fingers all enemies will be cancelled. Snap. It sounds like early book one auditing only much faster. Ron has lightning fast technology for himself. Too bad he didn’t give us this wonderful “technology.” With it he simply decided not to worry about his mistakes and hypnotized himself not to have any. Meanwhile, his followers are left with a different technology. They grind it out each day plodding along on a lifetime course of trying to get rid of all of their overts and withholds and unwanted spirits.

Speed of particle flow alone determines power. He got there and you didn’t because you agreed to a different set of rules. It is like the ten year old kid who makes up one set of rules for his friends and secretly has another set of rules for himself. He puts a whole course for them to run on in the heat of the day and sends them on their way. Meanwhile he goes inside the house, drinks juice, cools down, soaks himself with water so that it looks like he has run the race, and simply walks to the finish line at his own leisure. It’s cheating, huh? Now if he is really clever, he’ll even charge you to run around! Are any of you guys that have been on OT VII for twenty years at a cost of $20,000 to $30,000 a year reading this?

Let me clue you in. Ron’s bridge is a bridge of agreement. All you have to do to go free on this bridge is to change your agreements and bypass the entire thing. If you really believe in the OT level stories, fine. But, why get rid of spirits one at a time or even in clusters? Just make the decision that they are gone and they will be. You can also decide to be friends with them and don’t even worry about it. Better yet, just decide that the whole thing is an untruth.

Just so you know exactly where LRH is coming from here is another of his affirmations.

You need never expose or betray any secret God or your Guardian wants kept. You can be trusted with vast knowledge and never give it away or use it with express authority. What you know is riches. When you give away all you know, you are poor. You can give out exactly as much as God desires people to know. You never try to make an impression with what you know. You don't care what people think of your mind. So long as you refrain from telling what you know, vast secrets can be entrusted to you with safety. You will guard your secrets. You can be trusted always by everyone.

This is “Truth revealed.” It is not the PR version. You are given just enough truth to trap you and make Hubbard rich. That is why I am revealing these truths to you now, so that you can be free. In order to free oneself from slavery it is helpful to know what a slave is:

A slave is 1. one bound in servitude to a person or group as an instrument of labor. 2. one who is submissive or subject to a specified person or influence. 3. a component that is controlled by another component.

If you agree that Ron is always correct and that only he has the way out, you are well on your way to being a slave. You become submissive and controlled.

Let’s look at his methods of control.

According to LRH in the State of Man Congress tapes he says that a clear is someone clear of all overts and withholds in this lifetime. This is an encouragement for you to get rid of all of them. So is the atomic bomb, Remember? So important it is that Ron be kept up to date on one’s overts and withholds that every metered session begins with a check for overts and withholds. His auditors gladly write them down for you and keep them in folders so that they can be used against you when you leave and so that they will have the information on any one else that you have spoken about. The requirement of snitching (writing knowledge reports) augments this “technology.”

He convinced Scientologists to pull withholds on each other and made them think that this is a valid technology. It’s not, as I will explain:

In reality, someone complaining (a critic) is actually following LRH policy. It is steps 2, 5, 6, and 9 of the ethics gradients spelled out by Hubbard in gradients of ethics. It is what you are supposed to do. Here are the steps (ethics gradients) from the Scientology ethics book that require one to, in effect, be a critic:

(2.) Noticing something non-optimum and commenting on it to the person (5.) Talking about another person derogatorily (6.) Talking to the person derogatorily (9.) Reporting on a person to ethics

Let’s say someone came into your house and broke your TV with a baseball bat. That person is obviously at fault, right? You should have a right to complain directly to the person and get him to replace the TV (2). If he doesn’t make up the damage you would then perhaps talk to his wife or his friends to help you convince him to do so (5). If that fails you go back to talk to him again (6) or go get help elsewhere (9). Perhaps you even call the police.

According to Hubbard the one who complains is the one with the criminal acts, not the one committing the act. Ron has it backwards.

The tech of overts and withholds is false data. Only in confronting what lies before you and taking responsibility for it can one make a change. The running of overts and withholds seldom has any benefit. What actually works is figuring out how to take responsibility to handle the situation. The one in session usually has a realization at some point on how to achieve this. But first he is subjected to the needless and counter-productive overts and withholds check.

If you apply ethics gradients policy you become a critic. But a critic, per Hubbard, is only a critic because he has overts and withholds. You, the new critic, are now perceived as the enemy. You must buy auditing to prove that you are not full of overts and withholds or to get them off of you. You must get rid of your overts and withholds. Brilliant! Your TV is still broken and the bastard that did it gets away with it while you endlessly answer “What have you done to the guy that broke your TV? What have you withheld from the guy who broke your TV? This is Scientology. This is the technology of a madman. This is insanity! The criminal gets away and you are somehow targeted. One can be driven insane by accepting more and more auditing, because it seldom addresses the real issue.

In actual fact, the constant use of running overts and withholds is one of Hubbard’s mind control techniques. Not only does he get dirt (leverage) on you, but also you become pliable and ready to accept his dead agent tactics employed against his enemies. It is a means to an end. First, one accepts the lie that all criticism stems from missed withholds and overt acts. (I just showed that this is natural to do and is even backed up by policy).

Then one accepts the insanity that all attacks against the church or against Hubbard and his ideas are without merit and come only from people with missed withholds and overt acts. Brilliant! Those in the Church think the tech works. It sure does. It works beautifully – for Hubbard. You go around in a vicious circle and you don’t even see his secret purposes. You’re looking at some sort of bridge when the real use was to stop cold any who dare oppose Hubbard. Finally, you know that if you talk to anyone who is critical you had better write it up right away and not agree with anything the guy had to say. Otherwise, you yourself would be checked out. This can get expensive and consume time. Agreeing with a critic is a luxury few can afford. Per LRH in the Restoration of Knowing Cause tapes, criminals are made by punishing people. He says Scientology doesn’t use punishment. To hell it doesn’t. How is the threat of losing everything not punishment? How is the added expense of unnecessary security checking not punishment? How is the threat of snitch reports (KRs) not punishment?

His enemies can be tricked, sued, lied to, or destroyed. You are his enemy, just like me. You have been tricked and lied to just like I was. That’s because in Ron’s world even his friends are his enemies. He has only enemies. You are tricked from the very first contact in Scientology until you finally wake up and leave.

LRH had a fixation on running other people’s O/Ws. He was the one walking around with missed withholds. He wondered, does anyone know about me? Do they know I’m not a Nuclear Physicist, I’m not a Medical Doctor, I am not a war hero, and I hate family? Do they know that I am a pathological liar? Do they know that the bridge is just a means to an end? Do they know that I am an enemy, not a friend?

He constantly walked around in fear that he would be found out. The normal person doesn’t have that going on in his head. In fact, the normal person has a fraction of what he talks about on his lectures going on in his head, and usually in reverse. Most of Ron’s lectures are off the cuff self promotion and subtle putdowns of all other games and activities, especially raising a family and having what he calls GE goals, as you will soon see. In a later chapter I analyze a complete lecture paragraph by paragraph and demonstrate the hypnotic techniques and black magic employed by Hubbard. Once you have read it, I would be surprised if you ever want to listen to Hubbard again, except to laugh or perhaps cry.

KRs technology was put into use to spot any enemy and extinguish his ideas before any could be voiced. The person writing the knowledge report is scrutinized, perhaps more so than the person on whom it is written.

Note: I bet almost all of the highest ranking Sea Org officers have an out-qual for the Sea Org that was purposely overlooked. My brother was out-qualed because he had done LSD. His wife was out-qualed because she had been a major player in the guardian’s office in Washington DC. They both felt grateful to be accepted on staff. Ron had “leverage” that way. Interesting, isn’t it. Take a look. Leverage is also obtained by perusing through one’s PC folder, looking for embarrassing or incriminating evidence. LRH tech is focused on getting leverage.

His friends became heads on the pike. All are, in his mind, an enemy. He wants to know your crimes, your secrets, your intentions. Then, he can beat you if you ever leave or turn against him.

Now a lot of people are reluctant to leave the church for other reasons. In addition to the fear of being declared a suppressive person and losing your business, friends, and even family there is another. It is the fear of losing one’s eternity or for that matter one’s status. The caste system created by Hubbard is what created this fear as are his promises and threats.

Insert Training and Processing Gradechart

When one moves upward on this Gradechart he is cheered on by his comrades. He writes success stories, gives speeches, and gets flowers, people clap. It is quite an affair. Events are held. Spirits are high. One feels that he is part of something bigger than himself. Even in the course room and around the organization, people are walking around feeling a part of each other and of a bigger game. Because one has reached a higher level he feels that he is better off than before. Some have reached the pinnacle. However, there is a flip side to this. Clicks have developed within the church. There are even clicks within clicks. OT Ambassadors have the attitude that they are above mere OTs. OTs have the viewpoint that they are above clears. Clears have the attitude that they are above non-clears. Non-clears have the attitude that they are above Wogs (non-Scientologists).

One of my grade school teachers had us read once about a teacher that had taken her class and told them that blue eyed people were superior to brown eyed people. Within a short time the blue eyed children were mean to the brown eyed children and harassed them as being inferior. The next day the teacher reversed what she had said and told the class that brown eyed people were superior. The same results began to happen, but in the other direction. Finally, she said that it was all an experiment and had the class write up what they had learned. Hitler also applied these principles and other techniques. Ron Jones duplicated these techniques and wrote about them in 1972. It is a fascinating article and I recommend that you read it before going forward. Scary wasn’t it? Does it remind you of anything?

Like Adolph Hitler before him Hubbard did not want people to be reasonable and logical when looking at his views of life. He simply wanted them to follow him without question. Adolph Hitler had this to say about logic, reason, and fairness as it relates to propaganda:

“What, for example, should we say of a poster which purported to advertise some new brand of soap by insisting on the excellent qualities of the competitive brands? We should naturally shake our heads. And it ought to be just the same in a similar kind of political advertisement. The aim of propaganda is not to try to pass judgment on conflicting rights, giving each its due, but exclusively to emphasize the right which we are asserting. Propaganda must not investigate the truth objectively and, in so far as it is favorable to the other side, present it according to the theoretical rules of justice; yet it must present only that aspect of the truth which is favorable to its own side.” Adolph Hitler Mein Kampf

Like Nazism, Scientology is a religion of looking down on your fellow man. Non-Scientologists are viewed as inferior meat bodies and those trying to correct outpoints of the church are seen as evil suppressive persons, beyond all help. This is largely achieved by Hubbard’s redefinition of familiar words and inclusion of new ones and is the result of his propaganda.

Ron said that auditors are the most valuable beings on the planet (Curiously, their pay grade in Scientology does not reflect this claim. Many staff are paid more than auditors).

He carefully chose words like “Auditor altitude” to make people revere auditors. On the 29 January 1958 tape, “Man the Animal and Man the God” he states, “An auditor is always senior to a clear.”

He defines the Scientologist as a specialist in spiritual and human affairs and one who betters the conditions of himself and the conditions of others by using Scientology technology. This is quite a pat on the back for his followers and for himself. Conversely, he defines the non-Scientologist as a WOG (Worthy Oriental Gentleman)– a common ordinary run of the mill humanoid. Somebody who isn’t even trying. On the surface, which would you rather be? It kind of sucks you in doesn’t it.

He issued policy to make them feel invincible saying such things as “You cannot be the adverse effect of what you know about.” This statement assumes that others will also know about and follow the policy. If anyone violates the policy, you can become the adverse effect. I can assure you of that. Some of the policies are window dressings and are meant to be broken. Virtually all of us who have left the church can attest to that.

The concepts that I have mentioned in this chapter are building blocks for you to see into the mind of Hubbard. We are now ready to expose how he is turning us all to the dark side.
